The Power of Digital Sculpting and Texture
My thesis defends focuses on the baking process of multiple programs. Comparing the quality, details, and speed in which UV normal maps are created. As a student that started wanting to be a game creator only to move on to Animation and now focusing on my MFA in Visual Effect. I've come across my fair share of different programs. Many students find them overwhelmed with the 3D program application. The focus of this research and development is not to find which is better but to try and accomplish similar looks with all three programs and comparing the overall workflow to determine which looks cleaner, and require less to execute. The programs that will be used for the purpose of the thesis will be Substance Painter, Zbrush, and 3D Coat. To ensure a control experiment, I'll be rendering in Maya using Renderman.
